This "Buck Rodgers"
space ship was commissioned by the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum
for part of a collection of American Folk Art related to the air &
space industry. I cannot, however, take credit for the wild paint
job! |
This
carving is an exact scale replica of the first artificial
human heart valve, designed by Dr. George McGovern Sr. of Pittsburgh. It was commissioned by the American Heart Association and it was presented to Dr. McGovern as a "Person of the year" award. |
